Fifteen years ago, Bancolombia acquired the management rights to the American Express brand in Colombia, for card issuance and transaction acquiring.

For the latter, they needed a tool that would allow them to comprehensively manage the merchant affiliation process and the settlement and payment of transactions made by users of AMEX brand products.

By implementing our Settlement and Exchange System (SEI), Bancolombia can manage the following processes on a single software platform:

• Affiliation of merchants to the American Express brand.
• Manage the affiliation agreement with the business.
• Make payments to merchants for purchases made by cardholders.
• Monitor the commercial activity of the establishments.
• Resolve dispute processes in a timely manner.

Bancolombia currently has more than 35,000 affiliated merchants that accept the American Express card and clears more than 9,000,000 transactions per month.
